Importance of Impact | 2023/ 2024
Like many of us know society has many different sides and not always good ones. In these projects it was important to start a dialogue about these topics and bring awareness. This to encourage people to listen to other people’s stories and share their perspectives.
'Polarization' | Illustration | 2024
Polarization is something very relevant, especially nowadays. The original meaning of polarization is the division of groups with contrasting opinions and believes. This in its original state isn't something bad. It's good to have different perspectives and have different opinions. As long as these differences can be discussed with respect and an open mind. Unfortunately, these days the moment you have a different believe it can have massive consequences on your personal life or even outside your personal life. The Illustration was a representation of the aggressive division in today’s society, both in Europe as outside of it.
'Twisted Sides' | Illustration | 2024
What if your world comes crumbling down and people view you as a bad person? When do people cross that line of being bad, and is there even such a thing as losing your humanity? These where the questions that where asked during this project. People lose their way but what if someone doesn't accept help they are offered, and harm the outside world. Despite the illustration putting up the front of depression it also tries to encourage people to think about what happened.
'Corruption' | Illustration | 2023
There are many families that are effected by poverty, but also programs goverments give to help people with their basic needs. Nerys is one of the children of such a family. Alot of conversations shine light on the good parts of such arrangements, but not enough people talk about the harm such arrangements can also cause in the Netherlands. This piece was made to shine light on the damage a program like the WIA can do. It is meant to show how things get corrupted around it and can let someone feel stranded.
'Staying Human' | Illustration | 2024
Is someone always human? When does someone cross that line? Does it change when someone does unspeakable things? and what does humanity actually mean to someone. With this project Nerys wanted to open the disscussion and encourage dialoge about this blurry line that many people share different believes about.
